Vegan Asparagus

There is nothing more satisfying than eating a clean and delicious side dish like this vegan asparagus. Not only is this dish quick and easy, it is gluten free and a great addition to any diet.

Is Vegan Asparagus Healthy?

Asparagus is delicious and nutritious and imposes non life-threatening side effects. However, there may be some uncomfortable side effects such as gas, and a noticeable smell to the urine. You can surely control that by eating asparagus in moderation.

This vegetable is also a good source of fiber, folate, iron, and vitamins A, C, E, and K, as well as being beneficial to people with high blood pressure. Asparagus is also known to help the kidney and bladder cleanse itself.

What Does Asparagus Taste Like?

Roasted asparagus is a super tasty, quick and easy side dish, perfect for Spring. You will only need 6 ingredients and will be ready in 20 minutes.

Personally, I think that asparagus, when cooked, tastes like a cross between an okra and a green bean. 

Can Asparagus be Eaten Raw?

With the same recipe below and a splash of vinegar, you can make the perfect marinade for your raw asparagus salad. Raw asparagus is dense in nutrients due to being in its natural and uncooked state.

Is Vegan Asparagus Keto Friendly?

Asparagus is a woody vegetable, as it grows directly from the stems. Being so woody, this tender headed vegetable is filled with fibers which is great for your health but not so much on the keto diet list.

The harder stems are generally discard, however they can be used to flavor soups, stews or stocks. Not only are the stems good for creating new dishes but they are great for garden compost.

  • Baking Tray
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Mixing Bowl

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Pound Asaparagus
  • ½ Teaspoon Salt
  • ½ Teaspoon Black Pepper
  • ½ Teaspoon Oregano
  • ½ Teaspoon Chili Flakes
  • 2 Tablespoons Vegetable Oil

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 400ºF or 200ºC.
  • Wash and trim hard ends off asparagus. ·
  • Arrange the asparagus onto a baking sheet.
  • In a small bowl, add and mix the salt, black pepper, oregano, chili flakes and vegetable oil.
  • Pour the seasoned vegetable oil mixture onto the raw asparagus on the baking tray and toss to evenly coat.
  • Bake 400ºF for 20 minutes.
