2CupsAll Purpose Flourplus extra flour for kneading and rolling
½CupUnsalted ButterCold
¼CupCold Water
1TablespoonJamaican Curry Powder
¼TeaspoonSalt
Instructions
In a medium bowl, add the all purpose flour, curry powder and salt.
Use a fork to combine the Jamaican Curry Powder and salt in to the all purpose flour.
Once the dry ingredients have combined, add the cold butter and use the fork to break the butter into the flour mixture.This should resemble breadcrumb!
After cutting the butter into the flour, add the cold water.
Gently mix the water into crumbly flour mixture until a soft and smooth dough is formed.Do not over-KNEAD!
Wrap the dough in the plastic wrap and rest for 10 minutes.
Flour a flat surface with a light amount of flour and roll out the dough to about an ⅛th of an inch.
Cut the dough into 8 equal pieces and lay each piece on a non-stick baking tray.
Bake for 30 minutes at 375 degrees fahrenheit or until golden brown.
To Fill the Jamaican Patty Crust
Before baking, add your desired filling to only a half of the dough.
Fold the empty side of the dough onto the filling and seal the edges with your fingers.
With filling, bake for an additional 15 minutes.
