Who is Chef Marsha?
Since the age of 7, Chef Marsha fell in the habit of making the food she wants to eat. Growing up in Jamaica, ordering take-out is a privilege for most, which pushed her more to always want to have that privilege. She began with simple things like making fritters, porridge and eggs, as these were the most eaten foods in any home at the time. Yearning for the privilege to eat whatever she wants and whenever, she began to imitate recipes with limited ingredients - that is where the love for cooking rather than eating began. She moved to New York at the age of 14, where she attended Truman High School in the Bronx which offered a Culinary Program. Upon graduating from Truman, she continued her education at SUNY Delhi, where she achieved a degree in Culinary Management BBA.
Eat With Your Eyes Officially began in 2018 due to a failed attempt at having a dinner party. Since no one showed up, we packaged all the food that was already cooked and delivered to friends and family nearby. The feedback was not expected but it was overwhelmingly positive.
To preserve the authenticity in a foreign country, we import all our spices from independent farmers in Jamaica.
